Player Evaluations and Tryouts

Palmetto United FC has scheduled Youth Development Academy Assessments, U8-U12 Academy player evaluations and team tryouts for the 2016-2017 season for the weeks of May 2nd and May 9th. 

Palmetto United FC and Charlotte United FC have come to terms on a partnership that will focus on the South Charlotte and York County, SC surrounding geographies. Charlotte United - Palmetto FC will utilize their combined expertise to raise the performance of the entire club at all ages and all levels for boys and girls.  The club will continue to have the advantage of access to the Creative Player Indoor facility that already runs training and camps for the top players and clubs in the Charlotte area through newly hired (beginning with 2016-2017 Tryouts) AcademyTechnical Director John Pietak.  John's textbook Creative Player DMAC (Dynamic Mobility and Control) learning system with high possession, skillful touches, passing, unparalleled technique, tactics and unselfish play will be the benchmark set by Palmetto FC that no other club will be able to match.  We are excited to let the results play out on the pitch!

All player registrations will be via the site utilizing Blue Sombrero.  Palmetto FC will use Blue Sombrero team builder to organize teams once the player pool is selected and players are assigned to teams.  Players will have the ability to try out with Palmetto United FC or Charlotte United FC where players will focus on fielding the strongest, most competitive teams possible and tailor the club experience to individual player and family needs.  More will be shared at player evaluations and tryouts.

CHECK-IN (Pre-Registered Online): Check-in 30 minutes before start time.
CHECK-IN (Not Registered): Arrive 45 minutes before start time to complete registration.
REGISTRATION FEE : $25.00 pre-paid discounted online includes t-shirt.  $30.00 walk-up registration.
A readable copy of player's birth certificate must be submitted to the registration desk along with player's registration confirmation.  Remember to print and save your confirmation email.

Registration must be completed online. You can pay $25 registration fee online or bring $30 payment to the evaluation. All Payments must be received by date of evaluation. If you are unable to register online, please print REGISTRATION FORM and bring completed registration plus $30 registration fee to scheduled date for your age division.

  • If you have Pre-Registered Online, please check-in 30 minutes before start time.
  • If you have not completed registration online, please arrive 45 minutes before start time to complete registration.
  • To best evaluate your player, please plan on attending ALL sessions for your age group.
  • Palmetto FC t-shirts with number will be given to each player.
  • All players should bring water and soccer ball.
  • Shin guards are required by all players. No exceptions.
  • All Players are encouraged to pre-register online. We accept credit cards online.
  • If paying tryout fee of $30 at the field, we will accept cash and checks.
  • All returning Palmetto United players must tryout.
  • Preregistration is encouraged to avoid lines at check in.
  • New Palmetto United players must register and be evaluated according to age.
  • Coaching staff will make determination if player will move up an age group for play.  With DOC approval a player can move up a maximum of two years under age-based year


  • Players are evaluated and placed on teams with players of similar ability to promote growth and development of each player. Players will be notified of pool selection via phone and/or email within 48hrs of tryouts/evaluations by Executive Director, Coaching staff or Director of Soccer for placement.  
  • Parents and players then have 24 hours from contact point to register online (or bring paperwork to office) for team acceptance. 
  • There is a $200 non-refundable commitment fee.  This fee is deducted from the total club dues, and the remaining fees are either paid in full or paid by installments.

Non-refundable $200 Commitment Fee is due upon acceptance.

Once player number is assigned by team manager and club registrar (priority given to returning players based on seniority) a link will be provided to order the Under Armour uniform kit online directly from and the kit will ship to the player's house.  Additional logo wear will be available for purchase.

Applications with regard to U8-U12 Academy teams must be submitted prior to June 15, 2016.
Applications with regard to U13-U19 Academy teams must be submitted prior to June 15, 2016.
