Charlotte Soccer Academy - Palmetto

Youth Academy U10-U12

Allow Yourself to Become Great! We are excited about the upcoming 2016-2017 season and look forward to our players representing the community. Our new partnership with Charlotte United FC and our exclusive home complex at Palisades Soccer Park will help make Palmetto FC one of the Premier Soccer Clubs in the Carolinas.  Our Academy Program provides competitive soccer opportunities for the U8-U12 age division. WE ARE...PALMETTO!!

UPDATED 4/11/15
PALMETTO UNITED COACHING POSITIONS AVAILABLE : In anticipation of significant growth this coming season, Palmetto FC is looking for qualified youth coaches.  Please see mandatory SC Youth Soccer Coaching requirements:  Interested candidates should please contact Executive Director Bill Finneyfrock to set-up an interview and evaluation.

The Palmetto United Academy Program is designed to encourage and train young players under the age of 12 who wish to make the transition from recreational to more competitive soccer. While the advancement of young players is our primary goal, the Academy Program is not designed for the casual player. CLICK HERE FOR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The program is designed for the more advanced player who has a strong desire to increase their technical skills while learning more about the tactical aspects of the game. Because Academy program players are more advanced than most recreational players, and so much individual progress can be made through practice, it is very important that the player understand that a commitment must be made to practice. If not, they may soon be surpassed by other players.

The most important aspect of Palmetto United's Academy Program is training. Technical training utilizing the proven Creative Player Learning System is provided 2 times per week by our coaches and pool training is provided by Creative Player founder John Pietak, Technical Director for Charlotte United Academy players starting with tryouts for the 2016-2017 season. In addition, coaches help make the game easier by defining terms and skills used in soccer. Players are encouraged to work at home on basic technical skills such as juggling, receiving, passing, and similar skills. Click here for list of soccer terms and skills. Players interested in joining the Academy Program enter our pool of players in either the U8, U9, U10, U11 or U12 age division starting with the Youth Development Academy U8-U9 and then progressing to Academy U10-U12. Every player will be evaluated each season for team placement. The number of players in the Academy Program dictates the number of teams for that age division. Our U8-U10 teams compete in the local Charlotte leagues and tournaments and SCYSA sanctioned soccer tournaments throughout the fall and spring seasons.  Our U11-U12 compete locally or in the SCYSA Sandlapper League in South Carolina.
